Yes. By increasing endorphin release and reducing inflammation, acupuncture can alleviate period pain and discomfort, and can help manage PMS symptoms like irritability, mood swings, and bloating by improving blood flow to the ovaries.
Each treatment plan is personalized to address individual needs, taking into account symptoms, cycle patterns, and overall health. Consistent sessions are recommended for optimal results.
Conventional medicine typically manages degenerative eye conditions with daily drops, eye injections, or surgery to slow decline, but does not restore vision. Acupuncture works differently by improving circulation so that cells with function left to give get the support they need, which can help some patients regain noticeable clarity and most experience meaningful stabilization.
No. Needles never go into the eye. Eye acupuncture stimulates the nerves around the eye that support blood flow, circulation, and nutrition to the structures of the eye itself.
Local patients typically come in over the course of two weeks, though this can be spread out depending on the condition; degenerative diseases like macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa need treatments performed closer together. Out-of-town patients usually complete treatment over two weeks, which can be compressed to one week if needed. Testing is done before treatment begins and again halfway through to track progress.
Most patients notice their vision seeming brighter, objects clearer, or their visual field increasing, which means treatment is progressing well. Some patients report temporarily blurrier vision in the first day or two, which is not cause for alarm and diminishes on its own. A small percentage of patients see no change in the first week, in which case treatment stops and we follow up in a month, since some patients notice a delayed increase in vision.
We treat Macular Degeneration (both wet and dry), Glaucoma, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Diabetic Retinopathy, Dry Eyes, Ocular migraines, Optic Nerve Atrophy, and vision loss due to stroke, among other degenerative eye conditions.
Our Toronto clinic uses a combination of techniques including Microacupuncture, AcuNova, and Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches to treat degenerative eye diseases.
Please feel free to reach out to us to find out if you or a loved one can benefit from this type of treatment.
Yes. Most of our glaucoma patients come to us after years of conventional treatment. These situations may respond to acupuncture when conventional treatments have reached their limit.
