Acupuncture treatments lower and stabilize intraocular pressure naturally, without the daily drops and their side effects, and increase blood flow to the optic nerve to supply it with the nutrition it needs to function. As circulation improves, some patients begin to regain clarity in their vision.
Any reduction in drops is explored gradually over time and in coordination with your ophthalmologist, alongside your existing care rather than in place of it.
Eye acupuncture is used for Macular Degeneration, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Stargardt Disease, Optic Neuritis, Strabismus, and Diabetic Retinopathy, particularly for patients who have been told conventional medicine has nothing more to offer.
Most of our patients come to us after conventional treatments haven’t worked. These symptoms may respond to acupuncture when other options haven’t provided lasting relief.
Acupuncture works by stimulating the nerves that signal the tear-producing glands to turn back on, reactivating your body’s natural tear production system rather than masking symptoms with drops.
No. Treatment points are located entirely around the eye, never in it or on it, including around the eyebrow, at the cheekbone and temple, behind the ear, and on the hands, wrists, lower legs, and feet.
Common causes include LASIK surgery side effects, Sjögren’s syndrome, prolonged screen use, and blocked meibomian glands, all of which can stop the glands responsible for producing tears from working properly.
A free discovery call, available online or in person, lets you see whether this approach may be a fit alongside your existing care. Appointments are typically seen within a week, covered by most extended health benefits, and no referral is needed.

Qi Gong (pronounced Chee Goong) is the practice of proper breathing, alignment, focused energy, and awareness. It dates back almost 4,000 years and forms the basis of many practices such as martial arts, meditation, and healing. It’s similar to Tai Chi in that it uses focused movements with diaphragmatic breathing to harness the internal energy found within us.
