What is laser acupuncture and how does it work?
Laser acupuncture is an alternative treatment to traditional needle acupuncture. This non-invasive technique uses laser stimulation to excite precise points on the body – the same points used in traditional acupuncture – to activate their functions and affect deep tissue layers.
The small laser lights are attached to the body using medical grade tape and remain in the same place for the duration of the treatment. This relaxing and painless stimulation transfers modulated energy into the meridian system while keeping stimulation consistently high.
This is not the same type of laser used in laser surgeries to burn or cut. Laser acupuncture is considered a “cold laser” as it does not produce heat, also called a low-level laser.
